Ty’r Eithin – Renovation of Farmhouse
Ty’r Eithin Farm, Wales
2019 – Ongoing
For over 30 years, Ruskin Mill Trust has provided Specialist Independent Education to children and adults with complex needs including learning difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and disabilities. This site has been a biodynamic farm for 40 years and continues to have cows, sheep, chickens, and a market garden all of which are tended by the young people as part of their daily activities
Phase Two A, restoration of the 400 year old farmhouse provides a “heart space” and a large teaching space. Phase Two B, the extension of the farmhouse provides offices, a dining room, kitchen to serve meals to up to 40 people, and will be the core of the social life of the whole site. In line with our own and Ruskin Mill’s principles we use natural non-toxic materials, finishes and benign sustainable technologies.
