336 Ty’r Eithin Phase 1
Ty’r Eithin Farm, Wales
2019 – 2021
For over 30 years, Ruskin Mill Trust has provided Specialist Independent Education to children and adults with complex needs including learning difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and disabilities. This site has been a biodynamic farm for 40 years and continues to have cows, sheep, chickens, and a market garden all of which are tended by the young people as part of their daily activities.
Phase One, restoration of a stone barn and attached upgraded building by the late Christopher Day, will provide teaching spaces. Phase Two, the restoration and extension of the 400 year old farmhouse will follow later in the year and will provide offices, a dining room, kitchen to serve meals to up to 40 people, and a “heart space” that is the core of the social life of the whole site. In line with our own and Ruskin Mill’s principles we use natural non-toxic materials, finishes and benign sustainable technologies.
