Springhill Orchard
Forest Row, 2007
This small development of business units is the conversion of redundant farm buildings originally used to house chickens for egg production. The four 60m2 office spaces with adjacent storage have inner linings of unbaked clay blocks and service cores made of birch ply. The central heating plant is a Windhager wood fired boiler that has to be manually loaded with logs collected from the local forest. There is also a 5kW PV array and solar thermal for hot water on each unit.
